Teams arrival and other logistics instructions

2023 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships

Arrival at the venue:

Teams can arrive at Puerto Deportivo Elcano (Prolongación, Av. Rda. de Vigilancia, s/n, 11011, Cádiz) from April 12th.

The access gate for vans and trailers is located at the main entrance. The center staff will receive the teams in the crew cabin or in the entrance gate and guide each team to unload the boats. At that time, identification stickers will be handed out for each mast base and trolley (according to which you will have to place your boat in its corresponding area).

After unloading the boats at Elcano, the trailer should be parked in the indicated area inside the Zona Franca (map no1, Ronda de Vigilancia street, no number), from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th with the following schedule:

Access 1: from 09:00 to 15:00
Access 2: from 09:30 to 13:30 and from 16:00 to 19:00

Once the trailer is parked, it will not be accessible again until Saturday 22nd in the afternoon (after the end of the race).

Crane for coach boats:

Crane schedule at the beginning of the championship: on a first-come, first-served basis, from April 12, 13th and 14th from 11:30 to 18:30.

Crane schedule at the end of the championship: Saturday 22nd: from 11:00 to 21:00, Sunday 23rd: from 09:00 to 19:00 uninterruptedly. The marina staff will distribute slots for the organisation of the craning out.

Coach boats mooring: all coach boats shall be moored on the right side of dock 1 and on the left side of dock 2 (looking from shore).

Parking:

Vans must have their identification card in sight at all times both in the Elcano parking area and for the parking during the opening ceremony. This card will be handed out during registration at the race office.

Opening ceremony, April 16th:

It will consist of a parade of the teams carrying the flag of each country, a ceremony with speeches and music, a musical performance and a subsequent party and cocktail.

Parking during the ceremony: Map no2 (with the vehicle authorization card).

The meeting point for the teams will be at Paseo de Canalejas (map no3) at 18:15 . Upon arrival, each team must look for the person in charge of the organization who will be holding a sign with the flag of their country. This person will give a flag and will organize the order of each team in the parade. Each team will be responsible for its own flag, which must be returned to the organization upon arrival at Casa de Iberoamérica.

Each participating team must designate the person who will carry its flag in the parade. It would be appreciated, when possible, that this person be a woman/girl, with a view to promoting gender equality and promoting the role of women in water sports.

The organization will guide the teams during the parade. They must pass in front of the stage when the speaker names their country, and then they will be told where to stand at the end of the parade.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., the teams will be guided to Casa de Iberoamérica (Concepción Arenal street), where a cocktail and a reception will be held. The event will end at around 22:00.

Meals:

Each team member will receive a meal card for days 17th to 21st that will have to be stamped at the restaurant each time it is used. Its use must be personal and responsible.

The participants’ meals will be available after each day’s race in the championship Tent

Water:

There will be an “Aguas de Cadiz” tent for the use of refillable bottles.

Fuel:

There is no refueling service at the Elcano Nautical Center. The nearest gas station (HEMEGAS CÁDIZ) is located in Algeciras street. The boats can be refueled in Puerto America (in the commercial port of Cadiz) or in Puerto Sherry.
